Luigi Impostor Infiltrates Japanese Wii Launch

Japanese retailer, Akiba Yodobashi, held their Wii launch recently and fans were delighted when none other than Luigi himself showed up to celebrate and give away the first Wii. It was assumed that this mysterious Luigi was an envoy from Nintendo, sent to add a little zest to the launch, but the real truth was much more insidious.
For you see, this was not a real Luigi, but a crazy cosplayer in a really, really nice Luigi costume. Once the clever deception was discovered, Akiba Yodobashi employees wasted no time in quickly escorting the impostor out. Where he ended up is anyone’s guess, but I like to imagine some hobo watching in amazement as a 5 foot Luigi crawls out of a dumpster with two black eyes.
Make the jump for a photo of Luigi being whisked away by store employees and a video of a Japanese newscast showing the faux Luigi in action!

Seeing Sonic at the launch for a Nintendo console stills seems weird to me.
even more weird i find sonic as an “official” and luigi as an “uninvented” guest at a nintendo-launch…
well, i suppose mario will attend the launch of dreamcast2 then (sega, can you hear me?)
I find it strange one guy brought up Yu-Gi-Oh and Duel Masters( or maybe he just said yugioh duel monsters) when interviewed about the wii. Yes my lack of japanese is showing.
faux if french for false! YIPPEE!
