Persona 3: A Reminder That Our PS2 Isn't Dead ...Yet.
Who can resist a shiny new console with improved graphics and capabilities, new types of gameplay, and revamped looks for our favorite franchises? It doesn’t take detective work to realize that much of this holiday season’s focus, like a high school gym teacher, is going to be on the youthful next generation.
But isn’t there something a little exciting about the final days of our already dust-gathering older consoles? Developers have really gotten the hang of the systems’ capabilities, and stranger games with more singular visions get released.
Like Persona 3, set to come out stateside in the second quarter of 2007. Sure, Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei series has always been on the cutting edge of RPG’s, but until the next gen starts offering games in which sexy boys with hipster haircuts get super demonic powers by shooting themselves in the head, my humble PS2 will still be my number one.

This game needs A LOT more hype. Please please please hype this game, Atlus is still trying to decide on bringing an expansion disk that was announced in Japan over.

They’d better not have issue with it. Issue is what held back Tsumi back when P2 came out.

Dude, nice first post! I’ve been squirming pleasantly to the emo/Tron cuties of Shin Megami Tensei for ages…this looks freaking sweet. More and more I’m appreciating, with a certain anticipatory nostalgic mistiness, the past few cycles of great PS2 games… Let’s hear it for hipster hairdos and super demonic powers! (What, are you watching my webcam?)
Just mention the shooting self on head thing a lot.
That will generate enough negative publicity from the anti-violence groups to create a hype. (^-^ )
I’m really hoping they bring it over.
Though I’m still pissed they didn’t bring over the first part of Persona 2 where you could have a gay relationship.
i was writing a angry email to atlus about why they didn’t announce Persona 3 for US yet. Then i logged on their site and there it was. Oh i’m so happy.
HOLY HOLY SHIT! Persona 2, though I never beat it, was one of my favorite games for the PSOne. I’ve bought all the Shin Megami Tensei games that came out for PS2 and loved them all. I’m so stoked for this! AHHHHH! Persona 3 FTW!
