Red 5 Gets Greener
Red 5 is a new development studio with a staff consisting mostly of former World of Warcraft designers. Well, today, they made a huge step bringing them coser to developing whatever content they might have in mind. Red 5 have obtained $18.5 million dollars from Benchmark Capital and Sierra Ventures, who helped lead what seems to be the first round of fundraising for the newborn studio.
Red 5 was formed on September 8, 2005 and it’s members have such titles under their belts like the Starcraft series, World of Warcraft, Diablo II & Warcraft III. The press release says that “Red 5 Studios’ first title is already under development; a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game financed and distributed globally by Webzen.” Webzen, by the way, is a massive Korean online game company.
