The Original Legend Of Zelda: Full Map Of Hyrule

Legend of Zelda Overworld Map

The original Legend of Zelda captivated a generation on the NES. With complex dungeons and item management, players had to understand the order of dungeons and item locations to effectively progress through the game. Now with the Virtual Console, a whole new generation can play this classic which stands as the origin of the Zelda series.

Go back and try to get through this game without a map. I dare you. I know some fanboys out there must have this tattooed on every part of their psyche. To the average gamer, traversing Hyrule without a map can prove to be an ordeal. A huge fold out map was included with the original game, but now on the Virtual Console, players are at a loss. Fortunately the entire map, with item locations, is on display at TheWiiExperience.com. Even if you are not playing the game right now, it’s wonderful to relive Hyrulian memories in the Lost Forest. Take a stroll to rest at the fairy lake, or brave the falling boulders of Death Mountain.

my boyfriend was a little awed as I ran around getting money for the candle, Blue Ring, and Magic Shield, while also getting heart containers for the White Sword all before dungeon one.

I don’t think I will ever be able to forget that map.

as a side note, the map that came with the game was incomplete, if I recall correctly. that way, you had a starting point to go from.

I just finished this game for the first time on the VC. That map, which is also available on GameFAQs, was pretty much necessary. But I also suck.

I remember as a kid I spent so many hours playing this game. Without the map. I literally beat about 90% of the game, and found most of the items without it.

Then one day, I happened to be looking in the box, saw that there was a map…
