Video Tour of the Forecast Channel & How To Find Wii Component Cables
Gizmodo has posted a video tour of the Wii Forecast Channel. OK, not the most fun game related news, but it could be handy. I started playing around with hit last night and I actually like it. There, boring part over. They [Gizmodo] also posted a short and sweet retailer guide for those of you who have yet to find those elusive first party Wii component cables. How to Find Wii Component Cables [Gizmodo]
Video: Nintendo Wii Forecast Channel [Gizmodo]

ARGH. I’m getting a widescreen HDTV for Christmas and thus need these component cables (don’t have a Wii yet, but they’ll work on my Gamecube). Everyone is sold out of them. Why is it so hard to find these when PS2/3 and Xbox component cables are falling out of retailer’s ears?
The Wii has a different connector than the Gamecube, Shin, or everyone would already have one of the jillions of already-produced Gamecube component cables.
Of course, now the official Gamecube ones have been discontinued by Nintendo.
Sure, the Gamecube progressive scan cables have been discontinued. But apparently if you have the component cables for the Wii and a Gamecube game that takes advantage of the progressive-scan mode, you can still get some widescreen goodness with Gamecube games.
Also, on the Forecast Channel itself, all of Japan has different weather graphics than any other country. They’re anime-ish. Other than that, i absolutely love this channel. Imho, it rivals that which is Google Earth.
