CAG Lists Their Choices for the 5 Most Underappreciated DS Games

Cheap Ass Gamer has listed their choices for the most under appreciated games on the Nintendo DS. While I have heard of most of these titles, I do not recall hearing anything about their first selection, Scourge: Hive. Anyways, I’m sure they are all games worthy of being picked up. I know someone has thought about getting Contact for a while now and I had toyed with getting Bomberman. For the full article, follow the link. They give some great information on these titles with links for you to buy them.

Electroplankton all the way. Yeah it was released in Japan in ‘05, but we got it in the states in ‘06. It’s such an innovative title, and I don’t know many who have picked it up. Good luck getting a copy now, you’ll pay for it.

Contact is very amusing. If you liked EarthBound, this game is about as close as you’re going to get to a game that captures the same element of offbeat humor. However, that said, the gameplay falls a little flat. The game has a wonderful premise, but I feel they could have done a lot more with it.

I’ve always wanted to try Age of Empires DS and Lost Magic. I had no idea that Mega Man ZX was already out. Crap, I already have a backlog!

Age of Empires was a terrific game and a nice good challenge. Is Dragon Quest Slime really an “underappreciated” game? If it is, go out and buy it! It’s a blast!

I got Electroplankton on its launch day. Now I wish I’d bought two, since I have a spare DS that I mainly use for homebrew and it’s really sweet when you run two copies on two DSes at once. I like doing the “grid of plinky fish” on one and the “spin to make ambient sounds” on the other…. err, I mean I imagine I would, if I only had a second copy of Electroplankton, because I’d never ever use a backup and the original at the same time…

I still mean to get Break’em All and Magnetica. From looking around ebay, it looks like I’ll be paying for Magnetica but BeA will be pretty cheap to acquire.

As the owner of over half of these titles, I can whole heartedly agree with all the comments. Magnetica especially. “Zuma-clone” claims be damned, this was a fun play on the ds.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
