Crush: Sega's New Platforming/Puzzler For PSP

Sega recently unveiled their new platforming/puzzler Crush for the PSP. Initially the game looks like your standard platformer, but with the push of a button, the 3D world smashes into a 2D perspective. Utilizing this technique is the keystone for most of the puzzles in the game. After the puzzle or obstacle is bested, simply push the button again and the world comes back to full 3D.

The game tells the story of Dan who has come down with a nasty case of insomnia, who is going through hypnosis sessions to overcome his sleeping disorder. The world and the puzzles in Crush take place in mangled memories of his mind.

From the looks of the footage and the concept behind the gameplay, this game seems to be shaping up nicely. Imagine Psychonauts meets Super Paper Mario, let’s hope Sybil doesn’t show up. If so, I brought my purple crayon.

I doubt I'll get a PSP until they hit the clearance racks, but it's really nice to hear it's getting some different and creative games beyond the PS2 ports. I bet there's half a dozen games I'd buy for it at this point.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
