E is for Game Convention!
The successor to the E3 that we all knew and loved/hated has been given a name. It shall, from this point on, be called, E for All Expo (short of Entertainment for All Expo). The title was determined picked from over 3,000 suggestions that were sent to GamePro.
The newly formed expo will feature all the fantastic digital test driving of new games and machines that E3 offered, plus a few additional features:
- high-profile video game tournaments
- job fair/networking opportunities
- family-friendly offerings
- the acclaimed Video Games Live concert
Here’s a brief statement about the E for All Expo:
“We’ve witnessed a growing demand for a consumer-focused interactive entertainment show these last few years – both from consumers and from the industry,” says Mary Dolaher, executive vice president of IDG World Expo. “E for All Expo will offer an unprecedented opportunity for people who share a passion for games to try before they buy – and to interact with the people who created them.”

am in incorrect in saying that this isn’t actually E3’s new name, but an entirely different convention for non-industry types?
Yes, you are correct. Ye olde E3 has gone on to simpler and smaller things
im gonna miss e3, and i really liked G4’s little commercial for it too! “I’m watching E3!” lol, im gonna miss it…..i just hope G4 will still cover it though, cause thats the only place i go to watch it. and lastly, i cant wait for Nintendo to show off SSBB at it. OMG! its going to be amazing and oh so many surprises!
