Final Fantasy XIII Demo Coming Soon

In the latest issue of Japanese magazine, Dengeki, there is an article that says Square-Enix is hard at work on a demo of Final Fantasy XIII for July 2007. Eurogamer reports that there is no word on what the contents of that demo might be.
Remember, there are currently two versions in development for the PlayStation 3, Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Versus which, together, make up Fabula Nova Crystallis. When it (the FFXIII demo) does finally come out, let us hope it's not one of those lame-ass demos like the demo for Final Fantasy XII that was packaged with Dragon Quest VIII. That, alone, almost made me not buy FF XII.
FFXIII Demo This Year [Eurogamer]

The demo for FF12 is what made me buy it. It was great. Up unitl then I had zero interest in the game.
I've read that this demo is for E3. Regardless, I'm surprised that the game is already that far along in production. Of course, it's also possible that it's going to get delayed again and again like FFXII, but still. Color me surprised.
Ever since the cinematic trailer and those handfull of gorgeous screenshots came out I've been drooling for this game, absolutely gaga. I don't care if I have to wait until I'm 50 to play the damn thing...
High-def chocobos FTW!
High-def chocobos are reason enough for me to buy ANY console. :3
(And I'm offended that my spell checker highlighted chocobo above... >.>)
When I bought Dragon Quest VIII, I avoided the FFXII demo. In fact I never played it. Either
A) I'd like it too much and wouldn't be able to wait to get it
or
B) I would hate it and not want to get the game
So in the end I never played the demo, my BF did 5 days before the game came out. I let him since it was close to release.
I want FFXIII now though...
Please, please, PLEASE, if there is a god of gaming (besides Shiguru Miyamoto, that is), let FFXIII be better than that abomination of a twelfth entry. PLEASE.
Joy!
Now there's a killer a reason to go visit a friend's PS3. And if we're still in demo territory, it's at least another year and a half until I have to shell out for my own!
PS A little consideration when whinging about delays please. Believe it or not: Europe hasn't even been graced with FF XII yet!
