Interview With Zootfly About Ghostbusters And TimeO

A few days ago we reported about a few Ghostbusters gameplay videos that surfaced on YouTube. The European developer Zootfly has been silently working on this project and leaked the footage to gauge public reaction. The videos were warmly received overall. Unfortunately the project is on hold, until they have the licensing issues worked out to continue their work.
FiringSquad interviewed Tibor Klajnscek, the technical director at Zootfly, to inquire about the Ghostbusters game, and their own original IP TimeO.
When asked about the gameply elements of Ghostbusters, Klajanscek replied:
At the early prototype stage we were mostly working on getting the basics right. First, we wanted to reach a common vision of how to do things both artistically and technically. Later on we would work out the details. What I can say for sure is that we would stay true to the Ghostbusters franchise when it comes to handling ghosts. The trap would most definitely be in there. As for other gameplay elements we were going to have some pretty huge monsters, lots of ECTO-based action and of course the omnipresent Ghostbusters humor.Check out the interview, Klajnscek goes on to talk about their work on TimeO, which will be an action adventure game taking inspirations from Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Prison Break and 24. They basically took a bunch of the ideas they liked from their work on Ghostbusters and continued to develop them on TimeO.
Both of the games sound great, but I just can’t wait to hear if they get the greenlight to continue working on Ghostbusters. The video footage looked really promising, from the ghost wrangling with the proton cannon to the driving sequences with the Ecto 2, also the physics looks pretty nice. The only thing that’s missing is the ghost trap implementation. C’mon guys give us the next-gen Ghostbusters game we have all been waiting for.

Hey how about some new news? Looks like Sony caught wind of this and got the vids removed from Youtube. No mention of Ghostbusters is on Zootfly's website either...
RIP Ghostbusters?
Damn, sassy retort there Jay. This news comes from Firing Squad this morning. If they removed the Ghostbusters videos from YouTube, they are probably ironing out the liscensing issues, or canned the game. Nobody knows for sure right now. Only time will tell.
By 'licensing issue' don't they mean 'no license' ?
I suspect that they did the prototype to whip people up into a big frenzy and hoped that they would get the Ghostbuster's license holders attention.
They are a small, untested developer. I can't imagine them getting a license like that, but good luck to them.
It's not like anything has been done with the license in years, maybe *crosses fingers* they'll get it sorted. Hope so, I've been waiting years for a good Ghostbusters game :)
I didn't mean for it to come across so terribly. I'm just as anxious for a new Ghostbusters Game as everyone else. :/
Same here. It looks like they were on the right track from the demo we saw. I hope that they get the rights worked out. We haven't seen a Ghostbusters game in years.
"It's not like anything has been done with the license in years"
That would be Sony for you, they have something thats great, and yet, they sit on it, stupid if you ask me.
