It Pays To Play D&D Minis!

Hand Painted Exclusive Blue Dragon

A few weeks back I was musing on why, if you're not a big RPGA fan, you might want to head our to Arlington, Virginia early next month for the renamed Winter Fantasy, D&D Experience. Well shut my fool mouth, I've seen the light. And the light is Gargantuan-sized and breathes lightning!

The Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Limited Championship they're holding out in the shadow of our nation's capitol is nothing to scoff at. The big winner walks away with $2,000 and the friendly looking blue beastie right above, a repaint of the D&D Icons: Gargantuan Blue Dragon Wizards of the Coast just released. But that's not even all the loot, the top three prizes look like this:

First place
* $2,000 USD
* Opportunity to work with the Wizards of the Coast R&D department to develop a D&D battlemap of their choosing, for inclusion within a future set of D&D Miniatures.
* Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Second place
* $1,000 USD
* Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

Third-Fourth place
* $500 USD
* Exclusive hand-painted miniature available only at the Championship

The big blue is the prize going to the top winner, while the other winners get their picks of two other prizes I haven't seen yet. The bad news, though, is that the Limited Championship is "limited" because it's by invitation only. Still, for that kind of lewt and a 5 lb. mantel piece, I think I could get pretty into playing D&D competitively. You can check out the full details of the Championship (and see if just maybe your name is on the invitations list) right over at Wizards of the Coast's D&D Minis site.

If any of you actually are in this, best of luck! And if you win, remember that all of us here were rooting for ya and that the Gay Gamer dungeons would make an awesome minis map!

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
