Oblivion: Shivering Isles Screens And Details

Oblivion fans, rejoice! VE3D is hitting us with another microdose of screenshot medicine and a little FAQ action that sheds some light on The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, the official expansion pack to Bethesda's sprawling, lush RPG. The expansion's Spring 2007 release date hasn't been refined, but will be available for both PC and Xbox 360; for those who've been wondering (even, dare I say, hoping?), the Xbox 360 version of Shivering Isles will be available for purchase and download via Xbox Live - and Xbox Live only. Only the PC version will be available for an actual retail purchase.
Answers to other questions, including the expansion's size and duration:
Is this just another gate to Oblivion like the ones in the main quest? No. Oblivion is made of lots of planes, one for each Daedric Prince. Oblivion featured the fiery realm of Mehrunes Dagon. The Shivering Isles is the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. It's a place unlike anything you've seen in Oblivion.
How big is Shivering Isles?
Shivering Isles is about ΒΌ the size Cyrodiil, where Oblivion takes place.
How many hours of gameplay should I expect?
About 30 hours of new content, including an all new main quest -- in addition to miscellaneous quests you can complete, lots of landscape to explore, dungeons to discover, etc.
Well hell, I'm still lost in the original campaign. I've been running through fields of various waving grasses and the occasional light bloom for days...but I'll gladly take my aimless leveling-up into the realm of the Daedric Prince of Madness. Oh yeah.

I'd much rather purchase this at retail rather than download on live.. something about having a box and a manual - hmmm.. i'm being a fuddy duddy now though, need to catch up with the kool kids :p
..also if it's quite a hefty download - some of us already have a well stocked hard drive - not that i wouldn't delete everything for something oblivion.. but you know..
This news has made my month!
I have a sad life, I suppose. But hey -- there's a new Oblivion expansion pack!!!
Who-Hoo, finally the Oblivion expansion!! Can't wait, now if Zootfly would just get that Ghostbusters license, this would be the best year ever.
