Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Preview
It's time I admit something--I'm a closet Pokemon fan. Although I have never told anyone outright, I find myself buying every new major Pokemon title that comes out on every handheld device I've ever owned. There's something about the game's premise that is just perfect for gaming-on-the-go. Collecting cute monsters, quick little battles with only a modicum of strategy required, and a visually pleasant boxy world are just perfect for slow times at work or on the subway. So it is with some trepidation that I out myself by posting this GameTrailers preview of Pokemon Diamond & Pearl.
Doesn't it look cool? Now here's my question to you... do you swing Diamond or Pearl?

Well, diamonds are a girls (Gay boys) best friend.
Wow...that looks...exactly like the other games in the Pokemon series with some shading to make things look like they're 3D. But I'll probably be at least borrowing a friend's copy. And the Wii connectivity is gonna be redonk.

i havent owned a pokemon game since i had gold version, however i was talking with someone the other day about how all the pokemon games were good overall. and the wii thing looks cool too.
I'll probly be getting Pearl, but only because almost everyone else I know is getting Diamond ;)
And let's face it: diamonds may be a girls best friend, but pearls are a gay man's best friend ;D j/k
Damn it, it's not "Pokeymon!" They tried to add an accent mark to tell us that, but we Americans don't know what those mean!
I never really liked the character or pokemon designs after the first game. Did they change the designers after Red/Blue/Green? The first designs had this simple charm to them that the later designs never managed to continue. The little monkey one is cute though.
I'm about to pearl all over. I loves me some a'dem pokeymens.
The little bird makes me squeal.
Ooo... It is hard to decide. The pokemon on the boxes are really ugly.
I am not a closet pokemon lover, I am out loud and proud.
I, of course, will be getting both diamond and pearl.
It's gonna be pearl for me.
BTW, aren't there more than " 5 basic types" of pokemon?
Hmmm. Shame. I don't think I'll be coming back to Pokemon til they actually change the game a bit. Not necessarily the base mechanics, but can we have a little more developed display of fights? I remember being wow-ed when FF6 came out, that when you attacked, you actually jumped right over and connected. Can't we even get to that stage yet...?
The video was great, but the guy doing the voice was horrible. For such a big name title (following a high selling series), that was horrible job of GameTrailers. They had 15 types from the start, not 5 (and they added 2 more in Gold/Silver). I'm glad Purin showed I'm not the only one irritated to death of how so many people bastardize the name when it is always written Pokémon. Then again it doesn't really help that the new cast of (horrible, even for American dubbing standards) voice actors can't even pronounce it right.
