Politician Endorses Responsible Gaming
Mark Shurtleff, the Attorney General of Utah, created this excellent PSA to help families understand the rating system for video games. He explains how to read the rating score to determine if the game is suitable for your family. Shurtleff not only plays video games himself, but also endorses playing video games with his children.
This is pretty surprising, I've never seen a politician stand in defense of gaming. Usually we see people like Jack Thompson preaching fire and brimstone regarding games. Apparently Jack Thompson has some harsh criticism against Shurtleff because of his endorsement of the ESRB.
Thankfully someone in power is speaking in defense of gaming. This is just another example of gaming being stigmatized in mass media. Sure, there are many people out there who have never touched a video game before and are distrustful of them. A common knee jerk reaction towards the uncertain, is distrust. As time rolls on, we will see this stigma slowly melt away. Nearly everyone of the upcoming generation grew up with games as another source of entertainment. Hopefully in the next decade or so, we won't see people like Jack Thompson get any press for his endless ranting, raving, and speaking in tongues.
Politician has a rational approach to playing video games... yes, really [B&B&P&S]

Bonus points should be awarded for coming from Utah and not taking the generic republican "family values" stance on video games.
That, or he's trying to say "I'm a state attorney general, I got better things to worry about!"
