PSP Update 3.10 Brings Massive Awesome Changes!!!

Ah, but seriously, folks.
Sony has let loose PSP firmware version 3.10, which packs an awesome punch if you're a Sony lawyer losing sleep over PSP hacks, and essentially sucks if you're anyone else.
Also, even if you are a Sony lawyer losing sleep over PSP hacks, the fact that it took less than 24 hours for homebrewers to decrypt the update is probably a bit of a buzzkill. Couple that with the recently uncovered super fun ability to downgrade from 3.03 to 1.5, and this looks like merely another "too little, too late" move from Sony. Holy force feedback, Batman, what's going on over there?
What the 3.10 update does do is enable MPEG-4 AVC video streaming to your PSP, but only if you own a LocationFree base station, which according to my number monkey is statistically impossible. Otherwise, the update "extends support for PLAYSTATION Network titles," which sounds pleasant but vague beyond belief, and adds a dynamic normalization setting to keep volume levels from jumping suddenly and killing your eardrums. There's also some kind of whack "conserve memory" mode for internet browsing that loads pages faster at the expense of image quality.
So, you know, rush out and do that. It's not like you have much to worry about. Dark_AleX, Booster and the Noobz gang will bust out a new fix soon, if the trend of hackers-taking-better-care-of-Sony-products-than-Sony-does continues, which my number monkey (who doubles as a prediction monkey) assures me is the case.
On the positive side of things, some new PSP demos are in the works, such as Killzone: Liberation, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 (wait, are you kidding me? That's the title of a game, not a doctoral dissertation?) and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror.
Keep on rockin' in the free world, PSP kids! As for me, I ain't upgrading. Don't preach, papa - I'm keepin' my baby.

I think I'll stick with the hacked firmwares, thank you very much, as the old Lucasarts games are the only thing I play on my PSP atm.
Custom Firmware is definitely the way to go for me - Best thanks to Dark_aleX and co. for their excellent work which is the real reason for getting a PSP!
