Star Trek: Legacy Action

Bethesda’s recent PC and Xbox 360 title, Star Trek: Legacy, looks pretty good in this gameplay trailer. More significantly, it sounds incredible; this is because of the featured voice talent of all five actors to play Star Trek captains. (Ok, let’s head this off at the pass: I know, other actors have played captains. You know what I mean. real captains.)

While watching the clip I heard Picard legislate from the Enterprise, my all-time favorite boss lady Janeway announce something defiant and classy from the bridge of the embattled Voyager, and those other three. You know: Fatty, Sexy and Avery.

Check it out, gay trekkies!

I own it. I played it. Stay away. Its that simple. Stay far away. Very slow, glitchy camera, confounded camera, blahblahblah. Oh and the voice acting form the real captains? They are bored and sound bored. That simple. Stay away.

Tiny, were you going to play it on the PC or the 360? The 360 version is apparently very good and very free of the bugs that plague the PC version.

They touted this as such a revolution in star trek games and that it was going to be awesome blah blah blah but I am not impressed with the video graphics. The camera is all over the place, the ships don’t fly very smoothly, and there is little to no detail on the hull of each ship (look at DS9 for a good example). I am disappointed, but i’ll prolly still rent it once I get a 360 (i’m waiting for Halo 3 to come out)

Where are these shots from, PC or Xbox? Either way, the gay geek nitpicker in me will avoid pointing out all of the issues with the phaser fire. :) Looks like it would be adequate but action oriented Star Trek games haven’t been up to standard since Activision lost the license after the Armada series.

I was thinking of it for the 360, Mudd, but a certain recent impulsive console investment has rendered the point pretty moot. (Along with “food” and “rent,” too)

I noticed the massive disparity between 360 and PC scores on gamespot (7.2 vs 5.8) and wasn’t frankly sure if they were exactly the same game, or if perhaps the game lends itself particularly well to console play rather than mouse ‘n keyboard play.

Gametrailers.com does not specify which system the clip comes from, which in this case is frustrating. But it looks like an official Bethesda trailer, which…which doesn’t really help.

XD

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
