The 2006 GayGamer Reader's Choice Awards: The Winners

Thanks to Fruit Brute’s hard work counting all of those wonderful water-marked ballots, the results are in!! We want to thank all of you for voting and for the hard work that the staffers of GayGamer put into this, as well.

Some titles/categories were extremely close, others won by a landslide…Link being elected hottest game character of 2006, is a prime example of such a landslide. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess also made off with 4 awards (including Game of the Year) and one honorable mention. No doubt Link seduced the majority of you in that Sumo wrestling sequence. The honorable mentions were all within 5 votes of each other and Elite Beat Agents didn’t make the final cut to be listed but we heard so many of you cry out for it that we listed it as an honorable mention for Best Handheld Game!

As for Gayest Game of the Year, we had a tie. I was really surprised that both Bully and Kingdom Hearts II would earn such an esteemed title! At any rate, here are a few of the winners. For the rest, make the jump and be sure to sing your praises in the comments!

narf. it’s clear that the next-gen system of choice amongst the gaygamer.net readership is the wii, no? just as it should be.

glad to see, too, that my baby animal crossing ww got an honorable mention for handheld – i mean, after all, i may play twilight princess for hours at a time, but ac:ww is the only game i play every single day.

gotta keep up on the stalk market, you know?

    arkadin said:

yeah, or maybe that was for “most addictive” instead of “best handheld game.” whatever man, i just wrote a paper.

    Kaburi said:

lol those were all my picks~ Except, Okami could have been more represented

    Someone stuffed the ballots :D

    raindog said:

I bet “little link” is an apt description.

    Game-Boi said:

Uh….wasn’t Phoeinx Wright released in 2005?

    fillerbunny9 said:

I agree with Gamey Little Hacker. Frank > Link anyday. when you play dress up with Link, he keeps all of his clothes on, but Frank can be put into all sorts of revealing outfits.

not to mention that Link is STILL jailbait.

I personally didn’t vote since I only own a DS, so 80% of the games I never played or I didn’t even knew about…

Oh well.. I guess now I HAVE to get a Wii…

    Super Timsy said:

You are absolutely right, Game-Boi. However, the game was released (in late Oct. 2005) with not that many copies in circulation, and when the stock ran out, it was never replenished. It was not until March 2006 that Capcom decided to reprint it and release it, again, to meet demand. So it was my decision to have it included in this year’s awards.

    Riot said:

I can agree with all the winners except the hottest. Link? I just can’t see it! Now Frank West, that’s a man! ^^)b

    Game-Boi said:

Super Timsy, I’m just still bitter about Elite Beat getting the shaft. :P

Also, Frank is hotter Link, especially given some of the outfits that you can put Frank in.
