This Week in Gay Gamer - Week of 1/22

* Wii, Wii and more Wii. This week was all about the Wii: The Wii gets a new strap (again); the Wii is on NBC; Tara Reid gets her Wii on; cute accessories for your Wii; rumors of Wii improvements on the way; the Wii news channel launches; we get Sonic, Prince of Persia, Mortal Kombat, Super Paper Mario, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and more; and some people just like their Wii a little too much.
* Gears of War scores its own achievement by nabbing 10 AIAS nominations. This is probably why.
* The Crackdown demo goes Live and Halo 3 beta invites are sent out.
* The World of WarCraft: Burning Crusade becomes the fastest-selling PC game ever. How can Blizzard top this?
* New beginnings: Kojima, meet Xbox 360 and Wii; WoW, meet Rupture; and Square-Enix, meet Unreal Engine 3.
* Nintendo sheds light on quarter 1 releases and also goes after BitTorrent.
* Size doesn't really matter: No more restrictions on the sizes of Xbox Live games.
* The Pope doesn't approve of video games. Bummer.
* Two new ways to hurt yourself: #1 - Hack your Wii-mote and give it a robotic arm that holds a sword. #2 - Buy official Square-Enix replicas of in-game weapons, including ones from Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts.
* I'll never leave Azeroth or Outland again with this set-up.
* Last week, I mentioned same-sex zombie relations. This week, we get disturbing zombie gang-banging from Dead Rising. What will the zombies do next?
* Fanboys and girls rejoice when Super Mario Bros. 3 comes to Firefox.
* Finally, when Kotaku descended upon New York City's Barcade (think bar + arcade), Fruit Brute, tiny dancer and Mikey were there to crash the party. A great time was had by all.
