Who You Gonna Call?

Yesterday we reported that a Ghostbusters game could possibly be in development. Well, it’s true. The development team at Zootfly uploaded the Ghostbusters game footage, to showcase what they’ve been cookin up in their studios. ZooFly’s studio, based out of Slovenia, uploaded the footage to YouTube on January 10th. The footage was taken from a prototype of the game and featured various elements of gameplay and a short cut-scene.
There were doubts circulating around the net that the footage was taken from a Half Life 2 mod, and that it was probably just a fan project. Zootfly stepped forward and officially announced on their website that the game is in development. The footage we saw was running on a proprietary engine called Xubl2 on the Xbox 360
Next Generation received an e-mail from ZootFly programmer explaining that they used YouTube to gauge public reaction.
We were primarily interested in seeing the response from the fans and hoping to get some valuable feedback. I must say that we’re very happy with the overwhelmingly positive response to the prototype footage!
There still is a long way to go on this project, ZooFly needs to iron out some licensing issues. I’m going to keep my eyes on this project. I really saw some promise in the footage that was released. The gameplay of catching and wrestling ghosts with the proton gun looks fantastic. I hope it has a similar tug of war feel that Luigi’s Mansion had. The perspective looked great with the camera right over the shoulder and the low angle during the running scenes. I hope they work out all of the legal kinks, and bring us some solid gameplay from a beloved franchise.
ZootFly Talks Ghotbusters Game [Next Generation]

I really hope that Zootfly's able to work out licensing problems, the prototype videos looked great to me, and seeing a next generation Ghostbusters game would be freaking great.
I must admit, I was a bit rash on the deal about TimeO as well. Hopefully, we'll see more on both games.
While this looks cool, it won't be the same without a ghost vacuum and a C-64 voice saying "He slimed me"... :-)
