ZUZZY and MaxMinis: From Castles to Critters

One of the banes of minis gaming is always terrain. "Pretend this coffee can is a tower" never quite establishes the verisimilitude you see on all those Games Workshop battle tables. Stepping out into the scene, there's a new minis company who's whole shtick is fixing just that problem. The folks over at ZUZZY Miniatures have just entered the market with several lines of unpainted resin pieces of miniatures gaming terrain. While there's not much to see yet (mostly just rocks, stumps, and the like), they've got a variety of the bits you usually see scattered across minis tables or battlemats and, best of all, they're pretty cheep.
If ZUZZY doesn't totally fill up your gaming board, MaxMinis can also help. They've made a business of doing unpainted metal figures of some of the wacky and mundane pieces the big companies overlook. Need ten sheep? Yeah, got that. A fountaion or well? Got that too. A set of nine penguins? Who doesn't! (Finally, a source for my much maligned Animal Farm tabletop minis warfare game!) They also have your typical NPCs and monsters, usually in big sets and on the cheep. You can check out their whole horde, from braziers to basilisks, right here.
