A High School Dance, Mario Style!

A person with the indeterminate-gendered name of Zabi sent Kotaku these pics of his/her high school valentine's dance who's theme was Super Mario Brothers. Stools were decorated like mushrooms, there was a great back drop and what looks like a Yoshi snack shack or maybe that's just coat check, hard to say. The event was accompanied by a skit in which Mario and Luigi rescue the "Queen of the Dance", a role I'm sure we all wished we could have taken at our various high school functions.
Those are some lucky kids! The themes for my high school dances were horrors like "Stairway to Heaven" and "Free Bird" (Yes, I'm that old). I wish mine would have been more like this one... it might have actually made them bearable without the use of drugs.

The Mario High School Dance [Kotaku]

While in middle school (mid 90's), Stairway was *still* used as the last song for every dance. Either it never went out of style or I grew up around hippies. :?
That's pretty cool and the castle looks great.
My prom themes were "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and "Everything I Do".
What the hell is "Free Bird?"
Nah, I'm just yanking your chain. That's that really old song that people scream out for during rock concerts, right? ;)
That reminds me of the big castle and the dragon they painted on my high school's cafeteria wall. It was very poorly drawn and painted and it us feel like we were going to kindergarten on shrooms, or something.
