Broken Bubble Bobble Replacements
Back in October, Codemasters shipped Bubble Bobble Revolution for the Nintendo DS with a bug that wouldn’t let you get past level 30 in a 99 level game. When the player reached level 30, a boss character should appear. The boss doesn’t appear, leaving the player stranded on level 30, unable to continue the game.
Finally, Codemasters has fixed the bug and is shipping the new replacement cartridges.
We are pleased to say that we expect to be sending out replacement cartridges, that rectify this fault, from February 23 onwards. We would, however, also like to apologize for the length of time that this process has taken.
At least the replacements are getting shipped. I couldn’t believe what I read when I found out that Bubble Bobble Revolution shipped as a broken game. Did nobody bother testing it? How does such a serious bug slip through the cracks like that? It just goes to show you how carefully they treated the creation of that game. Sounds like a lazy developer to me. Developers who ship broken games are like magicians who pull dead rabbits out of their hats.

Bubble Bobble Revolution wasn't worth getting anyway, was it? Wonder if there will ever be a decent remake of Bubble Bobble...
Play the oft-forgotten Rainbow Islands for more Bubble Bobble fun, it's actually a sequel of sorts. My favorite was the third one, Parasol Stars for the TG-16. Any Parasol Stars fans out there?
