Cheating Scandal Rocks EVE Online Community

Untitled-1.jpg

Apparently EVE Online is having some problems. After some rumblings went through the community, a forum thread was started up to address the concerns held by much of the game's populace regarding possible in-game misconduct by some of the developers. The initial post addresses the problems of in-game characters as being revealed to be created by CCP employees. However, it seems that this isn't the biggest problem going on with the game right now, according to one eloquent and pissed-off community member:

The concern being talked about by the vast majority of players is not the identity of certain Dev or GM players, nor is it an in-game event that occured many months ago. The concern is that Band of Brothers (and possibly other large alliances) have received ill-gotten assistance from the Developers or GMs in the form of blueprints, ships, etc. That was the biggest concern, and you made absolutely no mention of it at all. Nobody really cares about the identity of CCP players in player alliances. Nobody really cares about an event that took place months ago. People care about rampant cheating by those whose job it is to STOP cheating. By conveniently ignoring this issue, you are only reinforcing the belief that CCP has something to hide.

Even though I don't play the game at all, I'm really curious to see where this whole situation leads. If you've encountered or seen any such cheating in EVE Online, please tell us about it here!

As a former EVE player who goes back occasionally, I am vaguely aware of galactic politics.

And before I was done with the first sentence I knew it was Band of Brothers. A lot of people wondered where they got their massive resources.

Band Of Brother (BOB) have had allegations of Devs in their ranks helping them out with actual ships/BPOs aswell as inside information/tips and borderline exploits.

Everytime this was brought up on the game forums, their was never any solid proof and 1000 BOB members would spam the forums saying "Lies" "Prove it" "Blah blah Tinfoil hat" "Your just jealous"

This is why 99% of arguments fade away, because BOB made people look like fools and blamed all the speculation on their ingame skill.

Now actual proof has been provided, via a hacker who provided intel on dev accounts and the illegal spawining of items to directly help BOB.

Personally i feel this is the tip of the iceberg and the only reason the Develoepr in question has "admitted and apologised" is because their is more to the story and he wants an end to the investigation.

Either way, coincidently every opponant BOB has fought has mentioned the strange goings on whilst at war. This has given them quite a bad image ingame, and with the recent allegations its finally give every1 a bit of proof and stopping BOB from knocking every1 down with their usual "proof please" and "lies" comments.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
