Female Gamers Get More Tail? News to Me!
According to a survey done by Gametart, a U.K. online game rental service, women gamers get laid more than women who don’t play games. Here’s part of the press release that was posted on GamesIndustry.biz:
It’s official – women who play video games have sex more often! … Of our sample of 200 women, those who played video games on average had sex 4.3 times a week while those who didn’t play games only had sex just 3.2 times a week. Perhaps even more promising for gamers is the fact that many of the women that we interviewed who have only recently started playing games said that they now have sex more often than before.
Oh really? As a lady gamer myself, I’d say the amount of sex I have on a weekly basis has decreased dramatically since I started playing World of WarCraft and even moreso since I got my Xbox 360 (to the dismay of my significant other). In fact, since I’ve gotten an early copy of Crackdown, my ever-so-patient boyfriend has gone to bed without me the last few nights as I ran through the streets of Pacific City until the wee hours of the morning with my new partner-in-crime via Xbox Live. (Does that count as cheating? Hope not.)
The survey also raises these questions: How old are these women? Are they casual gamers or hardcore gamers? Do they have multiple partners, or has the sex increased with their significant other? But then again, this clearly wasn’t meant to be an in-depth sociological inquiry so much as an attention-getting publicity ploy.
Or maybe I’m just a bitter, unloved game troll, and I need to move to the U.K. to get more action.
