Germany's Media: Addicted To Crack Or Just That Dumb?
We can officially say that it isn't just the U.S.'s media outlets that despise violent video games, based on the above footage. The "information" provided by this German news video is pretty hysterical because of its completely incorrect assumptions, campy acting, and random shooting locales (seriously, what's the deal with the empty street when they start describing these so-called "killergames"?)
Personally, I liked how the only description of Hot Coffee describes it as a game where, "whoever rapes the most women wins", though it's almost a tie where one of the political morons talks about how you can get more points in a game by torturing someone just before you off them with a chainsaw. If that game exists, I want to know why it isn't on my computer.

Annoying idiots.
That's all I'm going to say on the matter.
It's a great way to draw the attention away from the problems they really have to face - it's ridiculous that after the last school-killing, everyone was talking about counter-strike, hardly anyone talked about that guy's alienation and his habit to dress up in uniform with a gun, not for taking some nifty porn pictures, but to go shooting in the forest. But yeah, it's more obvious that you could kill someone with a mouse and a keyboard than with a gun, I agree, guns are natural...
No wonder there's so many Germans who move to Switzerland lately. Just come over here guys, it might not actually be perfect here but at least our politicians aren't THAT paranoid.
Just for the record: this is *one* late-night tabloid format, not "Germany's Media". Think of it as Jack Thompson TV and rethink whether you want to cast the first stone.
On the other hand, I agree this was a crackpot contribution and got what it deserved: flak from anybody including the station that airs this format and a pink slip for the director responsible. Good riddance.
Another reaction is a cooperation between the german gaming and internet industries to improve the public image of video games. Bout time, too.
By the by: The clan shown in this report are considering legal actions. The in-game scenes were made by the panorama crew, and the guy smiling already said it was something funny on TS, not the game itself that made him smile.
Except for the gamers, everybody in the interviews hails from Bavaria, the Texas of Germany. Imagine you would only be judged by the way Texans think and behave :D
