Get Laid In Brooktown High?

Well I can hardly imagine that this will be as fun as making out with a hot townie in Bully, and it doesn't offer any of the real-world benefits (questionable though they may be) of game/dork/dating startups like Rupture, but it looks like Konami is bringing their popular dating game genre to US shores.
The Tokimeki Memorial series has been a hugely popular dealie over there, and the PSP game Brooktown High purportedly copies the formula and fine-tunes it for an American audience...or so I pray to my darkest gods. Game|Life's Chris Kohler breaks it down:
Many years later, Brooktown High for PSP is their answer. I think they've copied the formula right -- you wander around school, meet women, date them, take them to the prom, play mini-games, etc. The dialogue seems funny, from what I saw at the Konami event, and all in all it seems like a decent game design.
But I have to ask: can you really see yourself feeling any sort of emotional attachment, at all, to the hideous barely-human beasts in this game (example above)? Sprung, for all its flaws, got it right -- the drawings aren't repulsive.
On seeing this character model in a video game, my first reaction, based purely on survival instinct, would be to punch it in the face repeatedly.
I can't argue with that. A little fantasy lady violence is always...um...fun? While dating games are beyond me (and I hope they stay that way), I'm sure some lonely hearts or Sweet Valley High romantics (you know exactly, precisely, specifically who you are!) will enjoy taking this fluff for a spin; it also helps prop up the PSP against the DS' overwhelming lead on "cuteness."
We can't play Loco Roco forever, you know.
