GuitarAtomik Unveils Okami Fan-Art

Marques Cannon (aka GuitarAtomik), the artist who wowed us all last year with his incredible Video Game Girls series, puts another feather in his already very colorful, feathery cap with his new kick-ass Okami piece.
Amaterasu looks stunning in her womanly form and as usual Marques' amazing backgrounds compliment the beautiful character art perfectly. If you haven't seen his other works, I suggest you hightail it immediately to his DeviantArt gallery and check them out. They are a wonder to behold...

erm, Amaterasu is already female..
On his deviant art page, he acknowledges that Amaterasu is already female, and that he is breaking his own rule...because its his rule and he can break it if he wants to! I think his work is really awesome...I wish I had his talent.
Wasn't the wolf itself male or something? I haven't played the game myself yet, but I seem to remember having read something along those lines online somewhere. Could be wrong though.
In either case, I'd much prefer a male version. But whatever floats your boat.
Amaterasu is genderless. This is very prominent in the Japanese version but got lost in translation, not due to a bad translator but due to limitations in the English language.
"1UP: What other sort of things went on behind the scenes in localizing Okami?
DC: Here's a few tidbits. Issun the character has a specific nickname for Amaterasu in the Japanese version where he calls her -- or I should say "him." I shouldn't say her. Actually that's one thing I should mention R&D is very adamant about making Amaterasu genderless, which made localization very hard. Because we use pronouns a lot: he, she."

I think I'm in love.
Who cares what gender the canine is? The humanoid lady-Ammy is gorgeous! More cool fan art, more!
While in-game Amaterasu is genderless, the Shinto diety is female. Good work, but it's just not doing it for me. Something about the design and anatomy just looks... wrong.
