Metal Gear Solid Movie Deal Details Revealed

It’s been some time since Konami’s Hideo Kokima announced the realization of his intent to make a live-action movie based on Metal Gear Solid, but it wasn’t until this week that Sony Pictures Entertainment vice chairman Yair Landau announced that it's Sony who'll be developing the movie. He broke the news to GameSpot after his D.I.C.E. Summit keynote address:
"We're working with the Metal Gear guys...It's a very cinematic game, it really lends itself to movie-telling. But the question is, 'How do you translate Snake's experience into a full arc that conforms to what audiences expect on the large screen?'"
But that's not all that Yair revealed, hinting at various other pots a-boiling, including the EverQuest movie, which is associated with a producer prestigious enough that Yair wouldn't name him (or Sony's bluffing, which wouldn't surprise me one bit...especially with the World of Warcraft film under development at Warner Bros.):
"There are other games we are looking to develop... We're working with one of my favorite producers right now on an idea for an EverQuest movie."
And when asked for the name of this most favoritest of producers:
"I'll let him disclose that..."
Great. I'll hold my breath. Look at me, I'm holding it.
And more to the point...can Ellen win two Oscars in one year? One for Master Chief and one for Solid Snake?

The question is will Hideo Kojima get a hand in making it like he wanted to.
