Nancy Drew Stakes Out The DS
My favorite Nancy, and I’m sure many others, is coming to the Nintendo DS in Nancy Drew: Deadly Secret of Olde World Park. Gorilla Systems is publishing the title so expect to see it in some DSs in the fourth quarter of ’07.
The resurgence of mystery adventure games on the DS brings me back to the time when I would sit in front of my computer for hours trying to figure out The Last Express, Bad Day on the Midway or Starship Titanic. Enjoying the masterful storytelling of Jordan Mechner or The Residents was delightful. They would dangle mysteries and possibilities in front of you and allow them propel the story. I’m glad we now have some great mysteries for the portable game player.
I have to give a shout out to my girl, Ms Drew, you better show all the other sleuths how it’s done. You have been snooping for longer than many of your programmers have lived. There are some tough pumps to fill on the DS, with titles such as Trace Memory, Touch Detective, and Hotel Dusk: Room 215, but I have faith that you can turn it out.

oh my GOD. I'm pretty good at keeping up with DS news but how could I miss my girl hitting the DS!?
I hope she has some karate chop action. Or a cooking mini-game. You ever notice how she could make dinner AND solve the mystery? Take that, hardy boys!
She'll bring some classy back to the DS.
