PSthree On The Way?

It seems that Sony is already planning to adapt the PS3 into a smaller and sleeker version in the (sorta) near future. Details at the moment are pretty skimpy, seeing as how Sony's probably still trying to figure out how they can get all those PS3s on the shelves to actually sell out before they even start to consider revamping the system:
A statement released by HQ in Japan states that Sony expects to make the transition from 90-nm chips to 45-nm chips in 2008 or early 2009. We all know Sony’s track record regarding the PS3, so I’ll bet we won’t see any changes until 2009. The decrease in chip size equals a slimmed down model that isn’t so pudgy. It’s a move in the right direction for Sony and we know they can do it—just look at the slimmed down version of the PS2. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope they make the transition ASAP.
Personally, I'm just excited about this because it'll hopefully help bring about a much more reasonable price tag to the system.

Releasing another console is almost a moot point until there are games we actually want to play on the PS3. I think Sony is trying to put themselves out of business.
MikeTV, I don't think that's the case at all. Sony has a lot of room to be flexible right now, with their HDTV and camera sales doing so incredibly well right now.
Their gaming division suffered a pretty big loss this last year, but overall they still made a profit.
