Red Faction To Return

Hot diggity daffodils! It seems that the Red Faction family is due for another bundle of love sometime in the near future. Details right now are next to non-existent; all we know is that THQ is going to make it.
Specifically, when asked by an analyst to list out the six major THQ-owned brands that the company would be concentrating on in the next year, Farrell commented: "As you mentioned, Saints Row, Stuntman, which will be released this year, Juiced, which is a sequel to the product we launched a couple years ago, Destroy All Humans, MX, and my favorite, Red Faction." No timeline or target platform for the franchise's continuation was revealed.
The Red Faction franchise established itself through the use of its "Geo Mod" technology, which allowed players to alter the environments by, for lack of a better explanation, blowing the snot out of it with big guns and explosives.
Provided that Volition is still the developing company behind the newest Red Faction game (though they may be busy with a Saint's Row sequel), I have no doubt that the game will be fantastic. Well, so long as the multiplayer action is well-designed and the explosions are absurdly huge I'll be happy.

What Volition really needs to be working on is FreeSpace 3. Dammit.
