Silent Hill: The Arcade
Eurogamer reports that an coin-op-arcade-based shooter from the Silent Hill series is on the way. This news comes from Konami's Arcade Operators' Union 2007. The official site for this event has only this tiny logo on that linked page. You wonderful people who can read Japanese, we call upon your services.
While it's not information on Silent Hill 5...unless it takes place in an arcade in Silent Hill (which I find unlikely), it has certainly grabbed my interest. I can't wait to get more information to see what this game will be about and how it will be played.

I'm having trouble imagining a Silent Hill arcade shooter. What, you wander around a virtually deserted town or something and every 5 minutes of walking through creepy surroundings you get scared shitless and get to shoot only to have to wait another 5 minutes to the next encounter.
I think the RE franchise was much better suited for this.
Arcade shooters are far too fastpased and Silent Hill was always more about creepy atmosphere than action.
this is a terrible, terrible idea. definitely worse than origins.
I agree with the both of you, but because I love this series so damn much, I am looking forward to the details about this game...I really want to know how they will pull this one off.
I'm oddly excited too, I'm just crossing my fingers for a home conversion.
Origins just looks pretty awful though, so I'd like to ignore that one.
unfortunately since there is no link the only information there is next to the little icon. all it says is something to the extent of this big hit from game to movie is finally in arcades.

Beximus translated it just fine. It's all it says. The popular series finally out as a gunplay arcade... Pfff... I was hoping for more info. The only pic I've seen is of the arcade itself (with ghastly curtains all around), no screens of the actual game or anything. I'm a big SH fanboy. Can't wait for an announcement on SH5...
