Apparently "PS3" Is German For "Porn"
With the European launch of the PS3 just around the corner, it seems that Sony's ad-campaign is in full swing across the Atlantic. This racy little image is from the cover of CONSOUL (is it just me, or does the title make it sound like the buyer is being swindled out of their everlasting spirit?), Sony's new tech magazine that is aiming to cover, "the PLAYSTATION 3 from the perspective of lifestyle and entertainment enthusiasts."
Uh... huh. So am I the only one who doesn't get why there's a picture of a woman going to the bathroom on the cover? More importantly, is anyone else reminded of that old SNL sketch with Patrick Stewart as the erotic cake store owner?

Wow. That is both puzzling and disturbing. I suppose since it's a PS3 magazine they can't show her playing Mario Kart on her DS, but couldn't she at least be doing remote play on her PSP or something? No? Just a picture of a girl on the can?

The German esszet, ß, is different from the Greek beta, β. It's actually a combination of ſ, the old "long s," and the "short s" we know and love. That's why it's a double-s. (Actually, long ago it used to be ſ and z, hence ess and zet.)
