BioWare Developing For PS3, Courting Microsoft?

Huh. Stay up late enough and something interesting almost always scrolls by. For instance: BioWare's rumored PS3 gig is now an admitted-if-unspecified truth, as is Microsoft Game Studios VP Shane Kim's admission that relations between BioWare and Microsoft have gotten sexed-up and steamy before:
"Buying developers is not a panacea at all. It's not always the right answer; it can lead to more problems rather than fewer," said Kim. "I'm not a big proponent [of buying developers]. If you look at MGS, we probably do a quarter of our titles internally and the rest with external development partners. It's not about owning the talent; you can't ever own the talent." That said, Kim admitted that Microsoft tried to buy the studio: "Well, I tried, but not everybody wants to be bought, Elevation owns BioWare..."
Ooh, seductive! Indeed, Elevation Partners, the investment group that owns BioWare, would appear to have been (rightly) protective of their RPG goose and its golden eggs. Which begs the question: is BioWare's move to PS3 (not to mention a whole team working on a DS game) part of the dance away from Microsoft, or part of a more elaborate dance-of-seven-veils designed to stir Microsoft's, er, heftier interests? BioWare's history is awfully tight with the Microsoftness, be it on PC or Xbox... it's food for thought, anyway.
BioWare: Working On PS3 Title? [2old2play]

I keep thinking "Metal Gear Solid", not "Microsoft Game Studios" when I see the initials MGS.
Anyway, I think Bioware is vastly overrated. Neither Knights of the Old Republic nor Jade Empire managed to hold my interest for more than a few hours each. Actually I quit Jade Empire in less than an hour, I found the combat ferociously boring...
