Castlevania Movie Still In 'Development Hell'

Movie site, Dread Central, has reported that Paul W. S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Alien VS. Predator), who had been attached to the movie as Director and Writer, is completely out of the picture. It's probably for the best since his movies were more like 'pooh-vies'. Where does that leave the Castlevania film? Well, from this point, it could just be canned or go forward and be the piece of crap it's likely destined to be...which is the more likely of the two scenarios. We just have to wait and see. However, taking into consideration the movies this man has made...and he's walking away from Castlevania...this cannot be good. I'll just go back and play Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Symphony of the Night.
Exclusive: Anderson Off Castlevania! [Dread Central]

hehe... you said "pooh-vies"...
Hey! I get tired of people picking on Anderson's movies. Sure, he's not going to win an award. But unlike some film makers I could name, he seems to both like video games, and have respect for the source material, so while they're not great, they're good entertainment. I'm sure he would have made an entertaining Castlevania.
Now, who will they get to direct? Few other directors even consider games to be legitimate source material, and of those who do, most of them are named Uwe Boll. This is a loss for the Castlevania franchise.
k
Resident Evil was quite an enjoyable movie, so it doesn't fit perfectly with canon.. pfft whatever - it at least makes sense taken on its own unlike something like doa :p
Glad he left the project. After all he showed more than once he`s not the guy for this kind of movies and Castlevania is a even harder one since you have to capture the whole flair of Kojimas pictures in it.
Maybe Gans will make it ;) At last he made a very awesome and game-like Silent Hill movie
