Coldwell Banker Joins Second Life Community

Well, it was bound to happen, what with all the major automobile corporations, political candidates, and virtual concerts going on in Second Life. Now it seems that Coldwell Banker, my most dubious of landlords during my college years, is set to make an appearance in the digital landscape by dealing in Second Life properties.
Visitors to Coldwell's sales office (in a community called Ranchero) will, if they choose, be flown by helicopter to view available properties. (Coldwell is also selling houses in the Second Life neighborhoods Crowfoot, Elboya, Gorbash and Scurfield.)Coldwell has designed and built its own houses, which buyers will not be allowed to alter. They will sell for about $20 (U.S.) each, lower than the average for similar properties in Second Life, says Young.
I'd like to know why buyers can't alter the houses after they purchase them? You're usually able to do that in the real world... provided, of course, there isn't a homeowners' association to deal with.
