Eternal Sonata Story And Combat Footage
The swarthy Pirate Prince and I have been following Eternal Sonata since it was called Trusty Bell: Chopin’s Dream, and finally Tri-Crescendo has released some localized footage of the game. The footage includes some sample battles with physical and magical attacks. Also there is a montage of in-game cinematics showcasing some superb voice talent and an overall melancholy tone.
The game looks truly original from the setup, even if the combat in the footage looks rather pedestrian. Who knows what the combat will be like once you have some party members, I imagine it will be more exciting. I am giddy with anticipation over this precious title. The art style is to die for, and the animation is superb. Give me fancy ladies drowned in lace running around with diseased children who posses magical powers to the tunes of Chopin, and I’m a happy gamer.
Make the jump for the battle footage.

that looks SO GOOD. oh man so good.
That's looking really good. Very good-looking, and the music sounds great (not having heard a lot of Chopin's work, I can't tell, but is the soundtrack based off of his work? Cause that would be AWESOME). Voice acting sounds annoying, but what can you expect?
I was this close to licking my screen watching the second video (cutscenes showing the story) but remembered at the last second I might get elctrocuted.
My god this game looks jawdropping.
If only I had an Xbox . . . *sigh*
Music is composed by Motoi Sakuraba, of Star Ocean, Baten Kaitos, and Valkyrie Profile fame, and as far as I know is mostly original works. I agree with Scarritt, though, some Chopin arrangements would be a beautiful touch.
Guess I'll just buy the OST when it comes out.
