Funcom Announces Dreamfall Chapters

I happened to be one of those people who played The Longest Journey through a couple of times because, well, I fell in love with it from the moment I first booted it up on my crappy old HP Pavillion. I also loved the story's continuation in Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, but I hated the way in which its gameplay was hampered by the rotten combat scenarios that were forced in to appeal to a larger audience. In fact, I was kind of terrified that the game was going to perform so poorly that no other sequels would be made and the fate of the series would be left dangling from the franchises's unresolved cliffhangers.
However, it looks like this is not to be the case: even though they have yet to issue an official press release, Funcom has announced that they are in fact developing episodic sequels which will be made available through download. According to Adventure Gamers:
Funcom is not disclosing any details about Dreamfall Chapters for the time being, except to say that they will pick up right where the previous game left off, which will no doubt come as a relief to those left agonizing over Dreamfall's cliffhanger ending.
Oh, baby, I am so there to get my next fix of hot Norwegian adventure game love.

PSSSSST...
There's an open href tag in the previous post that's messing with your whole site!
Oh I loved Longest Journey too, and liked Dreamfall, but I'd like to see a full-fledged sequel to them and not any of this "episodic content"-crap that all game companies are pushing nowadays.
It can't be the future of videogaming, it just *can't*!
I got like 2 hours into Dreamfall and got completely bored. Is it worth revisiting?
Yes! It's worth revisiting - if you like adventure games. IMHO, this series has been the best thing to happen to the long-flagging adventure genre in ages.
Totally psyched for more Dreamfall content, but I also wish it were a real sequel and not episodic stuff. I don't mind episodic stuff, but adventure games are often more about the story and the journey - more like a novel. Myst Online episodes seem like they'd work - if each episode is an Age, that'd be great. But for traditional storytelling...meh.
