Hot Coffee Finally Cooling Off?

coffeevolve.jpg

Take-Two Interactive may begin negotiations to settle a lawsuit concerning the infamous Hot Coffee molehill, according to Reuters. On Tuesday, a federal judge in Manhattan signed an order to hold proceedings in order to conduct settlement discussions, which might amicably resolve the suit concerning sexually explicit material in a game with an improper content label.

GamePolitics speculates that the suit in question is the class-action lawsuit that snowballed from an 86yo grandmother who bought a copy of the original unaltered (ie, it still had the Hot Coffee mojo buried in its code) version of GTA: San Andreas for her 14yo grandson.

I can't help but marvel at a world where a hidden, poorly-simulated collection of polygons causes a zillion-dollar shitstorm, but Kratos gets to rub his scarred face between two sets of very naked boobies (NSFW), while a silver cherub shakes his spurting penis into the bath. That does seem a little off, right?

does anyone in this case care that this grandmother bought this clearly classified 'Mature 17+' for her FOURTEEN year old grandson..

it should be thrown out of court on the fact that it was inappopriate for her to buy her grandson such a title - without her doing so he would never have been 'exposed' to it in the first place.

people should take responsibility for their own actions..

This case is stupid, like Cam said, if that grandmother wasn't such an idiot, this kinda thing wouldn't happen.
