I was one of those people who adored the first Kingdom Hearts, hated Chain of Memories' combat system, and stopped playing Kingdom Hearts II after being subjected to those godawful Little Mermaid songs (though I did have a nerdgasm with the Tron levels).
After having seen the trailer for Kingdom Hearts III, which was the bonus ending cinematic at the end of Japan's Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix +, I'll certainly admit that the game looks pretty. However, it feels like the franchise is moving away from the original feeling it had which made it so enjoyable for Disney nerds like myself.
Still, so long as I don't have to spend ten hours playing as Roxas, I'll probably end up picking the game up. I'll definitely pick it up if Bruce Boxleitner comes back.

No question it's taking a much darker tone but that trailer is nice. Going to a more adult level probably since all of us who have played the games are a much more mature audience in general at this point.
Whoever that new villan is he's one ugly bastitch. First of all he's dressed very similar to Ansem in the first game. Also notice it seems like he's both parts in one he's able to split his Heartless off from him?
Any thoughts or ideas?
Sora is incredibly weak. Yeah, looks like a sequal.
the entire time i was like "wtf? how is this related to disney in any way?" and then in the last second they showed mickey. it certainly is a nice trailer nonetheless
OMG, I love this series so much and that trailer was amazing. The bad guy was ugly as hell though, and the kid who was frozen looked like sora at first but then he looked like Roxas, hmmm. this is interesting, and I wish someone would translate the kanji so i know what they hell they're saying.
Woah... It was awesome! Great music, but I didn't like the character design for that bad guy... Really darker atmosphere compared to the trailers for the first two games...

Woah, Mickey looks so totally out of place there that it's completely baffling. XD I think the frozen fellow was Roxas, and the guy at the end was a growed-up Sora...? I dunno. Just thinking.
See GTA IV? That's how a trailer is supposed to go.
(It does seem like Nomura makes the previews darker and darker in each new chapter, The King included, huh?)

This is not a trailer. It's more like a teaser.
Anyway...
I am wondering if the scene was sorta a prequel to the entire mess. Cuz a lot of people noticed that Mickey's Keyblade was the same one given to Sora by Yensid.
Maybe this was where it all happened. Maybe Mickey was responsible for the big mess turning as worse as it ended up being.
All-in-all, a jaw dropping CG movie teaser as expected from Square-Enix.
Here's hoping to SE making FF and KH into multi-platform franchises.

okay, that vidoe just shattered like 50 fanfiction concepts, and now I'm pretty sure the frozen guy is roxas, and it really does look like an older sora at the end (except his hair looks stupid) now all I'm concerned with is the blue haired guy/girl. Cause I'm pretty sure that I saw at least one set of boobs at the end of the first trailer, then again, that armor can be decieving

In actuality, teasers can be pretty long. In essence, teasers can be part of a scene in a story. It's function is to make audience aware and excite them.
Trailer's function is to display multiple scenes to sell the audience the general idea of the movie/game. Trailers can also be manipulated to focus the idea to different paths like Scary Mary (the horror trailer parody for Mary Poppins).
For a game trailer, it's almost (again... almost) a requirement that the trailer shows other parts of the game and include gameplay footage to show potential buyers what kind of game they are getting themselves into.
Yeah, super realistic war CG with lots of violence and explosions, and suddenly Mickey Mouse? Sorry, that just doesn't look like Kingdom Hearts at all. Mickey looked WAY outta place and Sora looked too realistic to be running around with Goofy or Donald, so now it's basically gonna be Final Fantasy or what?

It doesn't seem very Kingdom Hearts-y (although I thought that about the trailer on the end of the first game, and that all came out OK)
Actually it was confirmed somewhere in a Nomura Interview that none of the knights are Sora, Roxas, or Riku.
Nomur also confirmed that Kairi and Naminé were not related in any way.

this looks AMAZING. i played and passed everything kingdom hearts and although II looked the prettiest, the story was the weakest for me, lacking in all the emotional gravity that made the first game so great. it's exciting to see the game look extremely dramatic again... :P

Hmmm, Im actually thinking that the lil guy is Roxas and the ther guy is Axel. As for the girl, who knows.
I'm I the only one that thinks that this teaser or trailer sucks? BTW, in my pc, i couldn't actually ewnjoyed it, because it was dark... very dark... only some faces, and of course Mickey at the end... I love the KH series, but... I'll wait for something better to watch. Happy to know that there is a new KH coming, and wondering... is this for PS2 or PS3? And i like the darker tone on the games, a bad ass Mickey... but didn't enjoyed this trailer/teaser/final movie for KHIIFM...
Actually, i read somewhere that the blond kid that got frozen IS Roxas. and the other big guy with the long hair is someone named Aero [whoever that is?]. also for the girl, its still a mystery. but did anyone think Riku with that other heartless thing? cuz the outfit that it was wearing sure does look alot like the clothes that riku wore when he was that "heartless puppet" in KH:CoM, just with a helmet [ie KH1 secret movie=black ribbon?] thats just what i think.
Exciting stuff. All this Kingdom Hearts 3 stuff is very exciting for Square geeks like me:)

For all you out there the three knights' names are Aero, Aqua, and Ven. Dont know this for sure but on http://www.kingdomhearts3.net/news/kingdom-hearts-2-final-mix/ theres a video i made of a battle btween me and sum enigmatic soldier who looks a lot like the soldier in the middle of the FM+ secret teaser....sumone translated the the words into english..... it says
“Aqua… Ven… Keyblade… who are you? I can feel it… we have met before… it was when… No… it isn’t you… It isn’t you that I have chosen… Why is it not him… Xe… ha… nort… is that you? Xeha… nort… Xehanort!” and this is the soldier talking!! I think he's aero and the other two are Aqua (the girl) and Ven the guy who got his whole body frozen......u should checkout the movie i made on the website i wrote above.......plus the enigmatic soldier (Aero) is holding the same keyblade as the soldier in the FM+ teaser....check it out....so now u kno its not roxus or riku, or sora......and the old guy is somehow related to Xehanort...and did any1 notice the thing he made in the sky looks like Kingdom Hearts

Anyways, I'm soooo totally confused about the whole thing. And I think it'd suck if Sora, Riku, and Kairi weren't in the new game. I've come to love those characters!! Why get rid of 'em now? Ah well..

If you pause it right on the blue hair kid's face when he's look up at Roxas while he's frozen, he had brown eyebrows. xD

The two soldiers name are Ven (person who was frozen and NOT ROXAS)Aqua (the girl) and i really dont know the other ones name But Ven is still alive because if you look close his eyes move and go to this sight if you want to hear more about them
