Live Action Dragon Quest Clips
If your afternoon is a dead as mine at work, give this a look. Concerning this live action adaptation of Dragon Quest, I do agree with Kotaku's Brian Ashcraft in saying, "Somethings work. For example, the silent film aspect does. Bowl-haircuts and live-action Slimes don't." Of the Slimes...my goodness the Slimes. Just wait until you see them...they're glorious. No really, watch this footage, you'll like them when you see them...or at least laugh at them as I did. Especially the one that lands on the pan over the fire.

Awww... so adorable. And awesomely cheesy. ^_^
The best thing this has going for it is the music. All the music seems to be arrangements of music from Dragon Warrior 1. I got all misty eyed when it started with that first overworld theme. Was my first console RPG :)
I guess I'm just that much of a Dragon Quest gamer geek to notice the odd usage of the Dragon Quest V hero with the rest of the Dragon Quest II cast (Prince of Cannock and Princess of Moonbrooke) in the first video and the last video leading up to the Dragon Lord of the first game (which only had one party member). It was great to see the Prince of Cannock with the Falcon Sword. I still enjoyed the Timsy-find!
BTW, Timsy, the fireworks at the end rank up there with the slimes~_^
