Mexican State Government To Confiscate All Copies Of GRAW2?

Time was, only crackpot Floridian lawyers and Joe "Palpatine" Lieberman wanted to interfere with the game industry (well, sorta...work with me here). Nowadays we've got Venezuelans calling for Bono and the mayors of Las Vegas and Juarez, Mexico spitting mad over the behavior of pixels on a screen that portray fictional versions of their cities.
In Mexico, at least, the fight has stepped up an order of magnitude: from mayor to governor. As reported by Juarez newspaper El Diario, the the governor of the Mexican state of Chihuahua, Jose Reyes Baeza Terraces, issued a command to seize all copies of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.
The divide arises from the game's portrayal of elite US forces as they battle Mexican rebels, and results perhaps from heightened tension regarding border control and immigration. That and some of the thoughtful comments on the Bono post put me in the mind of asking whether game studios are behaving less responsibly than usual, or if international antipathy against the US has become vitriolic enough to spill over into how our entertainment media is perceived. Has the US become enough of a gorgon that everything we produce with content at least tangential to current events is now tainted with the ill deeds of our (corrupt) government?
Whatchyoo think?

I think that these pics have less and less to do with the actual article every day... >_>
sight... as a citizen of a south american latin country, i have to say, i DO find GRAW offensive, but then again most of the movies, tv series and so that come from the USA now a days presenting some image of latinos are, well pretty offensive too...
i know its just fiction, but they have all the right in the world to act against it, if they think its presenting a twisted image of their people
It's kinda like how soccer moms compain to the artist/performers about what their kids are watching. Simply, if you don't like then don't watch it or play it. No one is making anyone sit and play this Video Game. There's always someone somewhere who's going to find whatever offensive. There is plently of other similar games out there. No one seems to notice untill it's about them. lol
The funny thing is ubisoft is a french company. So the french are "presenting a twisted image".
