Microsoft and Bungie Talk Episodic Content

Byyyaaawwww!

Microsoft and Bungie have announced that they are working on two new episodic gaming series for the Xbox 360 with Lord of the Rings director, Peter Jackson, saying, "Our deal with Peter is not about a film guy who wants to make video games". In regards to the deal between Bungie and Peter Jackson, Microsoft Executive, Shane Kim, said, "We're in the design phase now", continuing: "The first series will be set in the Halo universe."

So, after Halo 3, or perhaps in addition to it, there will now be 'episodes' you can most likely download and it will be a completely new and original addition to the Halo series. I'm excited to see how this pans out in the console gaming market, but I'm sure episodic content will be welcomed with open arms. The Halo franchise is certainly a good vehicle to bring it to the unwashed masses of console gaming.

What do you think? Brand new and original Halo game with episodic content: Yay or Nay? How about episodic gaming on consoles, in general?
