New Pokemon Diamond/Pearl DS Images Reveal A Bit More Gameplay

diamond7.jpg
For reasons that aren't particularly clear to myself, I am extremely excited about Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. In fact, I sometimes find myself walking past my local video game retailer, hoping against all hope that a shipment has come in early. I don't know about you, but that's a pretty clear indication that I really want to play the new Pokemon game. Maybe I should preorder and carry around a totally nonsensically oversized plastic stylus that won't fit in my DS?

I have put a lot of thought into it, and I think I'm going to have to go with the Pearl version. Diamond seems a little too... obvious. Plus, the Pearl legendary monster is LAVENDER and looks cooler. You realy can't go wrong with over a hundred new cute monsters to collect, regardless of the copy you pick up. It's just a shame that we all have to wait over a month for the game.

Until then, my favorite site for screenshots, RPGamer, has six new screenshots that detail some of the cute DS gameplay. You get a look at a few of the Poketch's abilities, which include a calculator, a pedometer, and a watch for the game's night and day system, which corresponds to our own world's real time. Of particular interest are the big buttons for attacks on the lower screen (just waiting to be tapped) and the very organized and pleasant looking inventory system that I can't wait to get my hands on.

"Rare Bone" indeed.

Don't feel bad, Pirate Prince, Pokemon Diamond is on my birthday list. That's my 39th birthday, by the way, so if anyone should be ashamed, it should be me.

We're here, we're queer, we play Pokemon. Not much of a surprise, I suppose.

Myself and a few of my (MUCH LUCKIER) friends (who have the import) have been keeping up with all that has been going on in Diamond & Pearl via Serebii.net. As they have been playing, they have verified to me the information are spot-on accurate (except the translations but I think they have gotten their hands on the English translations already and we'll find out if they're right or not on April 20th...I'm pretty sure they are since they've been right on just about everything else). I'm already anxious to start plowing away hours upon hours into my version and will be ready to challenge the GayGamer.net team.
