New WoW Figures Are Kinda Lame

I didn't think it was possible to misfire with WoW merchandise, but I suppose nobody can get everything right all the time. DC Unlimited is teaming up with Blizzard to put out some limited figurines based on The Burning Crusade, the "Undead Warlock" being pictured on the right.
On their own, the figures look great; they have that Todd McFarlane quality to them which brings them into the realm of art. That being said, I don't think they actually portray the game's style very well. Take the Warlock, for example: how many warlocks do you see running around in WoW dressed like that? Sure, they might be members of the undead legions, but their outfits tend to be more colorful and there's a little more of a cartoony feel to their evil look.
The rest of the figures rub me the wrong way too, largely because they feel a little too anime-esque... and a little because they just don't convey the sense of fun that the game itself does.
I'm with Alice from Wonderland on this one: these figurines suck.

I actually saw the figures displayed at ComicCon here in NYC....they look very good. My friend and I were both very impressed with how great they were displayed. I would suggest seeing them in person before making any decisions.
Well that is one of the new lock armor sets from the expansion. Sure, it won't look that scary in the game, but the tier 4 and tier 5 sets for warlocks are a lot darker and (trying to be) scarier looking, which is appreciated, since I don't like my lock wearing magenta robes and being confused for a mage. Screw you mages!
That's warlock tier 5 armor. Probably haven't seen it 'cause not a lot of people have it yet. I think it looks cool and am sad that my mage won't look as neat.
