NIGHTS May Make A Comeback

reviewnightsintodreams-2.jpg

For many years, fans of Sega's 3D platforming, flying beauty of a game NIGHTS have been asking for a sequel. Sega has given us the runaround with promises like, 'Wouldn't that be nice, to see NIGHTS again.' Well it looks like they are at it again. Head over to Sega's homepage and check out the poll, "Which SEGA game/character would you like to see a return?" Listed are Streets of Rage, Samba de Amigo, Virtua Cop, Flicky, and Nights. When I voted I noticed that 7478 people voted for NIGHTS with 57% of the popular votes.

I would love to see another NIGHTS. There are so many gamers who have heard of the game and never got a chance to play it, since they didn't have a Saturn. Now would be the perfect time to resurrect one of the most solid titles Sega ever produced. Personally, I would like to see it on the Wii, with gesture controls for flight. They could be sitting on a gold mine. Also, Samba de Amigo would be perfect on the Wii remote/Nunchuk combo. What do you think? What Sega franchise would you resurrect?

Is Sega seriously considering a NiGHTS comeback? [B&B&P&S]

I'm actually pretty freaked out that this article got posted because I was JUST playing the rare GBA Demo (*cough*) and reading articles from January about this very thing today. Apparently there ARE rumors about a possible Wii sequel that have been floating for a long time. The idea of NiGHTS and Samba on the Wii really excites me. It makes sense because you could use the Wiimote to simulate the movement through the levels or shake them (one or more) to the beat of the music. A definite prayer before bedtime tonight.

Though, the imaginary scene in my head reminds me a lot of the way I used to "fly" my action figures (NOT DOLLS) around the living room.

=) Still neat.

Hmm...much as I want to be excited about this, given Sonic Team's efforts of the last few years, I'm somewhat afraid of what a sequel to one of the greatest games ever would be like if developed by them now.
Apprehensive is the word I'm looking for, I think.
