ONM Pwned By Kotaku?

nights1.jpg

There are days where I really do love the guys over at Kotaku. And other days where I hate them... mainly when they post a story about whatever glamorous place they got flown to. This is one of the former types of days.

Official Nintendo Magazine has the above picture as a teaser advertisement. The text on the bottom reads:

World Exclusive! Step back in time as a classic game makes a long overdue return! Only in next month's Official Nintendo Magazine

Hit the link to see Kotaku's educated guess.

I loved playing Nights Into Dreams, and it's my sincere hope that the game is either coming to the Wii's Virtual Console, or (dare to dream) a full-blown sequel is on the way. One can only hope, especially since the Wii would probably be very well-suited towards delivering a fantastic experience when it comes to roaming around Nightopia and Nightmare.

Anyway, looks like ONM's busted. Oh, well, happens to the best of us.

ONM In Cruel April Fools Joke? [Kotaku]

Either its an entirely new game, or Sega is releasing a Classics compilation on a disc (as in Sega Ages for PS2).

I can't see this coming to VC, not without more than 512 MB flash memory to store games / save games / personal data into

ONM could be playing a very, very dangerous game with this item. In the past, they haven't been 100% accurate. BWii was an "incredible announcement" and the whole situation of using the outline Leon from RE4 for a completely unrelated rumor.

If Sega fans are a defensive, rapid pack of animals, the NiGHTS fans are the alpha dogs. If this turns out to be an April fools joke, they will be flamed from here into next year with no chance of ever being taken seriously again.

If this is true, great! Awesome even. But if this is an April Fool's joke I think that all game news sites/mags/etc need to closely reexamine the bizarre practice of purposely reporting false news once a year.

I've personally never played Nights, ergo have no emotional attachment either way.

If this is a joke.. they better be prepared for the fallout.. you simply do not joke about Nights.

Ooh, April Fool's Jokes sting. You should check out EGM's joke for this year. It sucks. >.

I really think that if a re-release were to happen (or a sequel) I probably would cry. I haven't really cried for a video game since I was in high school when I found out that Suikoden II was coming out. The first screen shots printed in PSM magazine, and I went nuts.

Nights is one of those games to me. You're right, "we" will be flamed. =\

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
