Persona 3: Fes Webisodes

I'll be honest, there isn't a whole lot to see in these clips from the new Persona 3 Director's Cut, Persona 3: FES. But what is there is pretty impressive. Each video features amazing voice acting (I can only hope we are so lucky when English voices are given) and great, detailed environments. Little details in each of the scenes really bring the environment of the school to life, which is important in a game that spends half of it's time navigating the social life of high school students. Which is fine, because unlike the Sims, there is a storyline to keep things interesting.

FES apparently adds 30 hours to the already long original game that was released in Japan last summer with additional activities, gameplay, and an extra chapter after the last boss is defeated. Hopefully when Persona 3 is released in the US this June, it will have all of these additions, similar to the way many games with smaller audiences have recently been coming to our shores pumped up, like Dragon Quest VIII and Rogue Galaxy.

More videos after the jump.

I think Atlus US mentioned something about not having the FES additions in the localization version.

I'm just still irritated about not being able to date guys in Persona 3. In Persona 2, the main guy had a gay best friend that had a crush on him. Not too much of a stretch to add a more open ended dating system in P3, right?

P3's Junpei is cute. -__-

I already played this one in japanese. Honestly, it was a letdown. It doesn't really feel like a MegaTen game at all and the simulation part isn't all that great...

The most frustrating part is the fact that you can only go to dungeons at night and eventually your characters get tired and you have to go home. Thus you have to keep going back to certain places over and over in order to complete it.

Plus, from what I can remember (haven't played since the japanese release last spring/summer or so).. there is no demon contact, a big part of the Persona series. I could be wrong, but I don't recall that being in there whatsoever.

I'll probably end up getting it anyways, but I sort of wish they had made it it's own MegaTen series instead of part of the Persona series.. alone it's alright, as part of Persona it's a disappointment :(

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
