PSP Redesign Confirmed

Ray Maguire, SCE UK managing director, confirmed that the rumored redesign of the PSP is indeed for real, and no, he isn't talking about the PSP 2.0. Excellent news, for sure. I've been looking for an excuse to snag a PSP...and if properties like Loco Roco, God of War, Silent Hill: Origins and a new non-card-based Metal Gear are on their way to the PSP, you can bet I'll finally break my piggy bank and get one. Just as was done with previous Sony systems, the new version of the PSP will be "smaller, lighter." Let us hope it will also be cheaper. ...but let's get back to the redesign.
Maguire comforts those who bring up questions regarding that magnificent screen by saying it will be untouched. I'm very happy to hear that. The PSP's screen, in my opinion, is one of the few strengths that attract me to that system. If I were to get a new handy-dandy PSP after the redesign, would it replace my DS? Never. However, it would still be really nice to have.

I saw a trailer for Silent Hill: Origins the other day, and it sold me on the system.
i've heard it would have a built in camera...
new PSP fills my penis with blood.
YOU CAN'T SAY PENIS ON THE INTERNET!
As nice as the current PSP screen is, it still could use some upgrading. Like, say, a better response time. I've had mine since launch and the ghosting still gets to me quite often.
My main complaints about the PSP system are the excessive load times for games and the fact that there is no built in protection for the front of the system (or easily replacable cover for it that actually looks decent), if these issues are addressed and improved then I will certainly purchase a PSP.
