Rogue Hearts Dungeon Footage
It's a strange and glorious time to be a gamer. New systems, yet to prove their mettle are exploring new ways to control our games. Handhelds are taking off like never before and for the first time, really, are being respected as their own platforms. Old systems still going strong with innovative and genre twisting releases.
So I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that there is a "dungeon crawler" that I'm actually interested in, considering that is my least favorite of all genres. Nothing spells boredom like neverending tunnels and rats, desperately searching for the next key, the next weapon, the next shield.
This game, Rogue Hearts Dungeon, at least does it beautifully. Coming out in late April in Japan for the PS2, Compile Hearts has added a beauty (although it's hard to tell with the crappy quality of the video) to the dungeon crawler the likes of which I have never seen, with a clean, cartoony look assisted by exquisite hand drawn art. Although the game will probably never reach stateside, a boy can dream of dark, dank catacombs, can't he?

Awww... looks like fun.. How come we miss out on so much cool stuff?
This looks like it was made for PSX...
Actually, I would be willing to punch myself in the face for five minutes straight if Atlus or someone similar doesn't pick this up and release it for people like myself, who pretty much never buy games unless they happen to be quirky and deeply flawed (i.e. most of what Atlus brings stateside)
I liked Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but I can't picture playing this on the PS2. I'd get bored way too quickly.
And Atuls has brought some amazing games stateside! I love all the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona games. I can't wait for Persona 3!!!
